Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.

Are You Ready to Play Outside?  Story and pictures by Mo Willems.  This Theodore Seuss Geisel Medal winner for 2008 features Kindergarten's favorite characters: Elephant and Piggie.  Piggie is ready to run, skip and play outside with her best friend Gerald, but then it starts to rain.  (But don't stop here!  Try all of the Elephant and Piggie adventures.  They are terrific books that you and your child can act out.)  For more ideas and activities, visit Mo Willems's Web site

Biscuit Visits the Big City by Alyssa Satin Capucilli.  On his first visit to the city, an excited puppy sees tall buildings, hears loud buses, and tries to say hello to everyone he meets.

Fancy Nancy Sees Stars by Jane O'Connor.   When a rainstorm prevents Nancy and her best friend, Robert, from getting to the planetarium the night of a class field trip, she has a brilliant idea for making things better.

A Good Day by Kevin Henkes.  A bird, a fox, a dog, and a squirrel overcome minor setbacks to have a very good day.

Good Night, Good Knight by Shelley Moore Thomas.  A Good Knight helps three little dragons who are having trouble getting to sleep.

Hi! Fly Guy by Tedd Arnold.  When Buzz captures a fly to enter in The Amazing Pet Show, his parents and the judges tell him that a fly cannot be a pet, but Fly Guy proves them wrong.

Puppy Mudge Has a Snack by Cynthia Rylant.  When Henry has a snack, his puppy Mudge wants one too.

Read Me a Story by Rosemary Wells.  Yoko pretends she cannot read because she thinks that if her mother finds out she can, no one will read her a bedtime story.
